The Beauty and The Blog

February 15, 2006

Just few weeks ago, I came across the blog of Juliet called Beautynomics-The economics of vanity. According to her, “She is An economics graduate that always hated her math but loved her theories. Believes that Economics can be found in the bathroom, in front of your vanity mirror, and in every place beautiful.

True to what she is saying, economics could be explained in terms relative to her vanity and beauty (needs).

One of the more confusing terms for basic Economics students and even non-economics students are the terms, GDP and GNP. Luckily, we”re so based in the ever-creative country called the Philippines, that the term GDP, is natively defined as, “Gawa ( made ) Dito ( here ) sa Pilipinas ( in the Philippines ). I think that just made it easier for everyone. And another term, GNP- Gawa ( Made ) Ng ( by ) Pilipino ( Filipinos )

So, how does VMV contribute to GDP? ( Teacher mode ) . VMV manufactures their products IN the Philippines, so it’’s considered a contributor of the Gross National Product. Simple as that!

So , how about GNP? The owner, is a Filipino citizen. Therefore, VMV contributes to GNP!

I never have any idea that Filipinos could simplify these two complex economic terms. Thanks God, this blog never existed before when I had my certification exam from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency. Else, I would be defining GDP and GNP the Philippines way or the beautynomics way. ha ha ha….

This lady definitely knows what to blog. Being an economics graduate, (I presume) she did the necessary research on what her blog should be and the niche where she should be in and excel. I am sure this lady would earn money from her blog. Sooner or later, beauty product advertisers and manufacturers would notice this blog. Look at her Google ads.

This blog is an example of a thematic (content-specific) blog with a twist (Talking of SEO, this is it!). A blog that speaks about the economics of vanity.

Who said vanity is not economical? I say vanity is economically viable to those who can afford. And this is my theory.
